Gary Wayne Rhoton

Gary  Wayne Rhoton, 70, of Bessemer City, passed away on July 1, 2021, at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas.

He was born August 30, 1950, in Sullivan County, Tennessee, son of the late William "Bill" Rhoton and Lois Summey Rhoton.

Gary enjoyed politics, watching football, and supporting his Tennessee Volunteers, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his dog Jax.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Susie Vannoy.

Gary is survived by his son Gary Rhoton II and wife April; Carrie Pope and husband Derick; grandchildren, Oliver Rhoton, Jocelyn Rhoton, Aubree Pope, Aiden Rhoton; brother, Bill Rhoton and wife Brenda, Tim Rhoton; sister, Sandra Greene and husband Mike.

All services will be private.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
