Gary Fred Plemmons

Gary Fred Plemmons, 63, of Lowell, passed away July 27, 2020 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

Gary had a big heart for his family and friends.  He was a native of Gaston County, NC and of the Baptist faith.  He loved his small town of Lowell and started a Facebook page "You Know You Remember Lowell When…".

Gary was born November 13, 1956 to the late Arvel Marth and Mae Tilley Plemmons.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Shuford Plemmons, Theodore Plemmons, and Jack Plemmons; and sisters, Newell Walters, Delia Plemmons, Rose Plemmons, Billie Gilreath, and Betty Brooks.

Gary is survived by a brother, David Tilley; sister, Becky McDaniel; special cousin, Danny Plemmons, special nephews, Jonathan Tilly, David Tilley, Jr., and Tony Walters and wife Darlene; special nieces, Deanna Tilley, Samantha Tilley, and Kay Campbell and husband Randy; great friend, Ted Wallace, that was more like a brother; and special friends, Candy Funderburk and husband Jeff.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Lowell with Pastor Quinton Thompson officiating on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at 4:00 pm.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC.

Gary loved and respected the Lowell Police Department so much.  In lieu of flowers, please consider remembering Gary by thanking the police officers for their service or by purchasing a meal for the officers while on duty.
