Gary Gene Hughes

Gary Gene Hughes, 64, of Gastonia, passed away January 12, 2015 at his residence. He was born June 2, 1950 a native of Gaston County, son of the late Jackie Melton and Ava Lee Hughes. Gary loved his family and enjoyed fishing and golfing. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Norris Hughes; son, Jackie "Jack" Hughes and wife, Melissa; brothers, Sonny, Bobby and David Hughes; grandchildren, Ashley Taule, Drew "Drew Boy" Hughes and great-grandson, Luke. A funeral service will be held 1 pm Friday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Dr. David Hammonds. The family will receive friends 6 - 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park.
