Gary Ulyuss Hovis

Gary Ulyuss Hovis, 81, of Dallas, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

He was born July 28, 1934, in Gaston County, son of the late Forney Commodar Hovis and Lucy Blanton Hovis.

Gary was US Air Force Veteran and a member of the Eighth Street Church of God.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine Hovis Deal; second wife, Inez Creasman Hovis; and son, Gary Hovis, Jr.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Jerry Hovis and wife, Becky; daughter-in-law, Jane Hovis; grandchildren, Bradley, Dustin, Steven, Christopher, and Devin Hovis; great grandchildren, Katie and Mayson Hovis; and step sons and daughters, Sharon Ball and family, Terry Stephens and family, Jerry Creasman and family, Mary McGinnis and family.

A funeral service will be held 11pm on Saturday, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd., Gastonia. Pastor Ron PendLeton.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be held at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City.
