Gary S. Harris

Gary S. Harris, 67, of Gastonia passed away April 5, 2013 at his home. He was born October 10, 1945 in Gaston County, son of the late Claude and Annie Mae Self Harris. A celebration of life service will be held 3:00 pm Tuesday April 9, 2013 at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052, officiated by Rev. Steve Fain. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia with military rites by the Gaston County Honor Guard. Mr. Harris was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a US Army Veteran in the Vietnam War. He liked to fish and was a faithful Waffle House regular patron. A special thanks to the Hospice of Gaston County for their kind and compassionate care. He is survived by: his wife and high school sweet heart, Kay Harris; son, Wayne Harris; daughters, Leslie Harris of Kings Mountain, Casey Cox of Stanley; sisters, Claudette Hartsell of Stanley and Kay Hare of Booneville, MS, Robin and Patti Harris; grandchildren, Machelle Gadia, Justin, Cameron, and Johnathan Cunningham, Joey and Skylar Allen; great grandchildren, Nicole and Audrey Gadia, Lilly Cunningham.
