Gary "Steve" Davenport, Sr.

Gary "Steve" Davenport, Sr., 74, of Gastonia passed away Monday, July 3, 2017 at Robin Johnson House, Dallas.

He was born March 1, 1943 in Gaston County, son of the late James Keefer and Grace Revels Davenport.

Steve was a member of United Baptist Church and he would brighten your day with his great sense of humor.

Left to cherish his memories are his life long partner and friend, Ann Woodring; brother, Daniel Davenport and wife Julie, David Davenport and wife Dorothy; daughter, Julie Woodring and husband A.C.; son, Gary Stephen Davenport, Jr.; 2 grandchildren, Andrew and Joseph.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Rose Davenport; granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Woodring; sister In-Law, Ethel Davenport.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Ray Pennell will be held 5 pm Saturday July 8 at the United Baptist Church 1970 Lowell Bethesda Road, Gastonia, N.C. 28056

The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church.
