Garret Steven Durbin

Garret Steven Durbin, 47, of Kings Mountain, went to his heavenly home with his wife holding his hand and by his side on Monday, January 15, 2018.
He was born March 26, 1970, native of Bellingham, Washington, and the son of Ronald Steven Durbin and the late Theba Drusilla Williamson.
Garret was a brilliant businessman, who owned and operated Independent Insurance Advisors Inc. He was a loving and devoted husband, stepfather, brother and friend, who had a kind, caring and loving heart. He always put everyone else's needs before his own.
A celebration of Garret's life will be 3:00pm Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by Charles R. Baumgardner.
The family will receive friends 2-3 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.
In addition to his father Ronald Durbin and stepmother, Yvonne, Garret is survived by his loving wife, Lorna Durbin; stepdaughter, Jasmine Banks; stepson, Marcus Dolphin; sisters, Monica Walker and husband, George, Cassandra Kocis, Bonneva Ruckman and Greg Burkes, TyeRee Durbin and Daedra Nelson and husband, Jeremy; brothers, Jeffery Elder and wife,Anna, Sebastian Durbin and wife, Diane; sister-in-law, Tracy Baumgardner; brother-in-law, Charles Rusty Baumgardner; two grandsons; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and many friends who loved him dearly.
Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
