She was born January 24, 1941 in Gastonia, daughter of Mary Katherine Curtis Wood and the late John D. Wood. The family will hold a memorial service 2 pm on Saturday at First Wesleyan Church, Bessemer City. The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday at the church.
