Freda Bernice Penley

Freda Bernice Penley, 82, of Gastonia, passed away August 9, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born September 14, 1932 in Macon County, daughter of the late, Denver and Delton Holland. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Gilbert Allen Penley, Sharon Penley Bryant, Susan Penley Huntsinger, Nita Penley Harbin; brother, Bryant Holland; sister, Audrey Cook; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis Caldwell and Marsha Mason. A memorial service will be held 3 pm Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Andy Ballentine. The family will receive friends 2 - 2:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Gaston Hospice, PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
