Freda Davis

Freda H. Davis, 92, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at her home. She was born March 26, 1921 in Gaston County, daughter of the late Daniel H. and Cora Hoffman Harbin. Mrs. Davis was a member of Spencer Mtn. Baptist Church. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Lincoln County Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of "Miss Freda". A celebration of life service will be held 2 pm on Tuesday at Spencer Mtn. Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Conley Matlock. The family will receive friends 1-2 pm on Tuesday prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Hillcrest Gardens, Mt. Holly. She is survived by: sons and daughters in-law, Harold and Patricia Davis of Gastonia, Raymond and Tina Davis of Lincolnton; daughters and son in-law, Faye and Jim McKee of NH, Diann Goldner of Gastonia; brother, Clifford Harbin; sisters, Eunice Carpenter, Dorothy Sutton; 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: husband, John Davis; sons, John Davis Jr. and David Davis; brothers, Ernest, Robert and Roy Harbin; sister, Mamie McConnell. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar St., Lincolnton, NC 28092.
