Rev. Fred Vinson Stanford

Rev. Fred Vinson Stanford, 67, of Gastonia, passed away September 19, 2015, at his home. He was born March 7, 1948, in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Fred Louis Stanford and Mary Carnes Stanford. Rev. Fred was a member of West Fifth Avenue Freewill Baptist Church of Gastonia and was a minister for over eight years. He was a US Army Veteran and was a CEO of Stanford Services and Lawn Care. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Dunn. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Faye Spivey Stanford; son, Tracy Stanford and wife Brandy; daughter, Christy King and husband Bradley; sister, Lisa Green; and grandchildren, Peyton Stanford, Emma Stanford, Piper King, Quinnlyn King, and Brooks King. The family will receive friends 6-8pm on Monday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd., Gastonia. A funeral service will be held 2pm on Tuesday at West Fifth Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, 2145 W 5th Ave, Gastonia, officiating Pastor Richard Cole. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
