Fred Davis

Fred Junior Davis, 88, of Gastonia, passed away August 1, 2018 at his residence.
He was born January 5, 1930, a native of Gaston County the son of the late Robert Lee Davis and Flossie Clark Davis.
Fred was a member of West Franklin Baptist Church in Gastonia. He was a United States Army Veteran and retired from Firestone after 40 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Shirley Owensby Davis; sons, Fred Alton Davis and wife Cathy, Steven Davis and wife Judy; daughter Janice Davis Russell; grandchildren, Amy Gilliam and husband David, Josh Davis, Candace Davis, Sam Davis, Matthew Davis and wife Foris, Mary Lee Davis, Hannah Davis, Krista Roderick, Austin Russell and Sarah Russell; great-grandchildren, Madison Gilliam, Mallory Gilliam, Kinsley Hoffman, and Landon Leibacher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Grady Davis.
A funeral service will be held 3 pm, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC, officiated by Pastors Jeff Williams and Lewis Walker.
The family will receive friends 2 – 3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
