Fred Wilson Barnett

Fred Wilson Barnett, 68, of Gastonia passed away May 8, 2016 at Terrace Ridge Assisted Living.

He was born December 15, 1947, a native of Gaston County, the son of Rufus "Wilson" Barnett Jr. and the late Mary Wilson Barnett.

Fred grew up in Union Presbyterian Church in Gastonia.  He was a US Air Force National Guard Veteran.  Fred was also employed by NC SBI and Southern States.

Left to cherish his memories along with his father, are his daughter Dorothy Scott and husband Brian; son Brian Barnett and wife Stacy; brother Thomas W. Barnett and sister Frances Barnett Parker and grandchildren Savannah and Madison.

A graveside service, officiated by the Rev. James Holeman, will be held 2 pm Thursday, at Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 5615 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28056.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
