Franklin Delano Michaels

Franklin Delano Michaels, 76, of Dallas, passed away on January 12, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte. He was born March 6, 1937 in Gaston County, son of the late Luther B. Michaels and Mary Kelly Michaels. Franklin was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved fishing and outdoor activities. Mr. Michaels was retired from Westvaco after over 30 years of service. A celebration of Franklin's life will be held 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia officiated by Rev. Joe Hall. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia. Mr. Michaels is survived by: son, Todd Michaels of Dallas; brother, L. B. Michaels and wife Debbie of Gastonia; sister, Lorene Cobb of Cherryville; granddaughter,Heather Frazier Cranford and husband Jeremy of Gastonia; son in-law, Johnny Frazier; special nieces, Gail Black and Andrea Poole; many numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: his loving wife of 44 years, Cartha Hall Michaels; son, Frankie Michaels; daughter, Donna Michaels Frazier; one brother, four sisters.
