Francis Welch, Jr.

Francis "Junior" Roosevelt Welch, Jr., 92, of Gastonia, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas.

He was born on May 24, 1928, to the late Ida and Francis Roosevelt Welch, Sr.

Junior was a charter member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church and also a lifetime member of the VFW.

In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his wife, Luna Welch; and sisters, Carolyn Welch, and Lois Haskins.

Left to cherish Junior's memories are his son, Stan Welch (Martha); daughter, Linda Ledford ( Ronnie); grandchildren, Joshua Ledford, Krystal Debruler (Mark), Stacey Welch,and Billy Welch; great-grandchildren, Taylor McVay (Jorge), Britney McVay, Brianna Hoyle, Aaron and Emma Ledford; and great-great grandchildren, Nolan Spivey, and Arianna Velasquez.

A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Roger Overton, will be held be at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service- 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 7:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Interment to follow the service at Westview Gardens.
