Frances Smith

Frances H. Smith, 89, of Gastonia, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Courtland Terrace in Gastonia.

A native of Gaston County, born on July 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Estelle Hill Hughes.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Boots Hughes, and Fred Hughes.

Left to cherish Frances' memoires are her son, David Smith; sister, Betty Sue Barneycastle; grandchildren, David Smith, Jr (Misty), and Joseph Smith (Mandi); and great grandchildren, Hunter, Wayne, Cailey, Cheyenne and Carolina Smith.

A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Dwayne Burk, will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment to follow at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Gastonia.
