Frances Ponise Mcmillian

Frances Ponise McMillian, 74, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025, at her residence.

A native of Gaston County, she was born on September 13, 1950, to the late Pride and Mary Detter.

Frances was a dedicated Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother. She loved her family and Jesus with all of her heart. In her younger days Frances gave her time to the people of her community by working in home health care, looking after those unable to care for themselves. She kept God and family at the center of her life. She gave charitably to others with donations to organizations helping those less fortunate.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bill McMillian; daughter, Felicia Reep; grandson, Jr Reep.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tammy McMillian; son, Scottie McMillian; grandchildren, Tiffany Wallace (Shannon), Cassie Hall (Roger Smith), Misty Sherer (Chris), Jennifer Reep, Danny Ray Moore, Megan McMillian, Heather Cochran, Destiney McMillian; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Charles Harris, will be held Friday, March 7, 2025, 2:00 PM, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia, NC.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the funeral home from 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
