Frances F. Mccarthy

Frances F. McCarthy, 78, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, November 11, 2016, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

She was born November 10, 1938, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Thomas Farmer and Viola Deas Farmer.

Frances was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was a former president of the Gaston County Chapter of MADD.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Kim McCarthy, Gwen McCarthy; sisters, Dale Buchanan, Ricky Farmer, Martha Horner; and brother, Tommy Farmer.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 47 years, Eddie McCarthy; stepson, Kelvin McCarthy of Gastonia; sisters, Helen Heffner of Andalusia, Ala, Lucille Stines and husband, Ernest of Gastonia, Beverly McDonald of Gastonia, Audrey Griggs and husband, Dann of Gastonia; brother, Dean Farmer and wife, Hilli Farmer of Deltona, FL; grandchildren, Amber and Jason; and great grandchildren, Caris and Conor.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastors Greg Ballard and Walter Griggs, will be held 11 am on Tuesday, at Fairview Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park.
