Frances Marie (Houser) Ledford

Dallas, NC -

Frances Marie (Houser) Ledford, 80, met her Lord and Savior March 26, 2017 after battling a lengthy illness at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas.

Mom is a native of Spindale, NC born to parents Fred and Lucy Jane Houser.  Upon graduation from high school, she entered nursing training at the Rutherfordton Hospital and became a Registered Nurse in 1958. After relocating to Gastonia in 1970 with her family, she began a rewarding career at the new Gaston Memorial Hospital, later retiring with 20 plus years of service.  Frances was a former member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and later a current member of Hardin Community Baptist Church.  She loved the members of her Sunday school class, and was an active volunteer serving the needs of her church family and others in the community.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents; brother, Earl Houser of Spindale; sister, Mary Hardin of Forest City and her husband, W. Troy Ledford originally from Waynesville.

Remaining to cherish her life and memories are her son, Todd Ledford and wife, Cindy and two grandsons, Sheldon and Isaac Ledford all of Dallas; brothers Carl Houser of Union Mills and Glen Houser of TN.

Very special consideration and thanks are due to our God sent, caregiving friends at The Robin Johnson Hospice House.  All of us were overwhelmed by the unselfish love, care and unrelenting support these wonderful people provided.

A graveside service officiated by Pastor Clay Ledford, will be held 2 pm Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Hardin Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6 - 8 pm Tuesday, at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
