Floyd Edward "Gib" Jackson

Floyd Edward "Gib "Jackson, 91, of Gastonia, was called home to heaven on January 6, 2025, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

He was born May 5, 1933, in Gaston County, son of the late Harvey Jackson and Blanche Smith Jackson.

Gib loved his family and always put their needs before his.

He was a man of simple words. He meant what he said, said what he meant, and a handshake was all he needed.

He will be loved and cherished forever and greatly missed by all who knew him.

He enjoyed softball, hunting, and being outdoors, especially riding his motorcycle on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 6-8pm Monday, January 13, 2025, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia.

Gib is survived by his loving wife of over 75 years, Joanne Jenkins Jackson; daughters, Lynnie Reinhardt, (Ricky Henderson), Amy Jackson, (Travis Scronce); grandchildren, Stacy Mason (Chris), Reese Reinhardt, Alex Reinhardt, Brooklynn Scronce; and several loving extended family members. He had a special place in his heart for his Crowders Mountain Family.

In addition to his parents, Gib was preceded in death by his son, David Jackson; brothers, Delbert Jackson, Howard Jackson, WC Jackson, Garland Jackson; sisters, Marie Blanton, Oveda Blanton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the charity of one's choice.
