Flossie "Tug" Atchley

Flossie "Tug" Atchley, 93, of Gastonia, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021, at her residence.

A Gaston County native, she was born September 26, 1927, daughter of the late Loyd and Nettie Johnson.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Atchley was preceded in death by her husband, Cloid J. Atchley; several brothers and sisters; and daughter-in-law, Kay.

Flossie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Gastonia where she was a member of the Golden Age Club.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, C. L. Atchley (Lucille Evans); daughter Donna Nichols (Mike); grandchildren, Chad Atchley, Scott Nichols (Susan); great-grandchildren, Gracie Nichols, Lane Atchley, and Addison Nichols.

Mrs. Atchley will lie in state from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM Thursday, September 23, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at Gaston Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
