Flora Johnston

Flora Ella Sherrod Johnston, 85, of Gastonia, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Levine Dickson Hospice Home in Charlotte.

She was born on March 12, 1936, in Muhlenberg County, KY, to the late Archie and Allie Jessup Sherrod.

Flora was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Flora was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara N. Hunt and Lilly Etta Sherrod.

Left to cherish Flora's memories are her loving husband, William "Wayne" Johnston; sons, John Clifton Johnson, Douglas Hans Johnston, Michael A. Johnston and Barry Wayne Johnston; brother, Forest E. Sherrod; 5 nieces; 1 nephew; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A funeral service, officiated by Rev. L. Todd Marlow, will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Hope Community church of Metrolina – 3205 Sam Wilson Rd, Charlotte, NC.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.
