In Loving Memory of Flaviano "Flavio" Galdino Sabucco
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Flaviano "Flavio" Galdino Sabucco, who departed this world on July 24, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.
Flavio was a devoted husband, caring father, cherished grandfather, and a dear friend to many. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be etched in our hearts.
Flavio was born in 1940 in the picturesque landscapes of northern Italy. He grew up amidst the beauty of the countryside and the warmth of a close-knit family. At the age of 25, with a heart full of dreams and aspirations, Flavio made the life-changing decision to embark on a new journey. He crossed the oceans and embraced the opportunities that the United States had to offer. In 1974, he attained U.S. citizenship.
Family was at the center of Flavio's life, and he is survived by his wife, Janet (Guffey), sister, Valdina, sons and significant others, Steve and Kelly, Justin and Claudi, and Gino and Courtney, and grandchildren, Madison (husband, Dustin), Noah, Caleb, Seth, Grace, Hannah, Isabela, Adelina, and Hayes.
"Big Flav" will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His gentle spirit, sharp wit, and warm smile will forever remain in our hearts. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate his remarkable life and the impact he had on all of us.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd, Gastonia, NC, from 10 am to 12 pm. Immediately following all are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the same location and a graveside service at Sunnyside Baptist Church in Bessemer City.
May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
