It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Faye Hulcey, who left us on April 16, 2026, at the age of 83, at Levine Dickson Hospice House at Southminster. Faye was born on July 11, 1942, in Belmont, North Carolina and spent her life in Lowell, NC. As a proud twister in the cotton textiles industry, she dedicated her work to supporting her family and community.
Faye was a long-time, faithful member of McAdenville Baptist Church, where she served her church and lived out her deep faith in Christ. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Kimberly Saunders Davis (Donnie) and Stacey Saunders Hatley (Tracy) and a beloved grandmother to Christie Nolen, Heather Nolen (Beth), Brittany Morgan, Maranda Morgan, Dillon Hatley and Chase Hatley; great grandchildren, Alexis, Brayden, Lillian, Ellanor, Cameron and Serenity; brother, David Hulcey (Patsy); many nieces and nephews. A love for family, she taught them to trust in God's promises and to love without condition.
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Faye, a devoted mother, grandmother and servant of Christ, with a service at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 21. 2026 at McAdenville Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Walt Griggs. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Faye will be laid to rest following the service at Gaston Memorial Park.
Faye's days were marked by prayer, kindness and unwavering faith. She will be missed dearly, but her legacy of love and devotion to her family, church, and community will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, John Hulcey and Helen Bowen Ervin; son, Nathan Lane Saunders; sisters, Barbara Jean Palmer and Mary Blackwood; brothers, Jerry Autry, Tommy Hulcey and Donald Hulcey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McAdenville Baptist Church 192 Main Street McAdenville, NC 28101.
