Faye Chatham Guffey

Bessemer City, NC Faye Chatham Guffey, 86, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015. She was born June 15, 1928, the daughter of the late Ensign W. and Tennie Boone Chatham. A loving mother and grandmother, she was always kind in offering assistance to others. Faye was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bessemer City where she had taught Sunday school. Faye is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Charles and Linda Arrowood of Rutherfordton, sister, Doris Parris of Forest City, grandchildren, Tammy Ferguson Arrowood and husband Jeffery, Jason Arrowood and wife Dana, great grandchildren, Bryce, Carlee, Addison, Beth and Lee. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Calvin Guffey, brothers, Earl, Dazel and Boyce Chatham, sister, Edna Hollifield. A graveside service will be held 2:30 pm Monday at Westview Gardens with the Rev. Tom Ravan, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 - 2 pm prior the service at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, NC.
