Faye Bryson Burrell

Faye Bryson Burrell, 86, of Gastonia, passed away December 31, 2014 at Carillon Assisted Living in Shelby. She was born July 3, 1928 in Stilesboro, GA, daughter of the late John Shirley and Maude Dudley Bryson. Faye was a member of Yorkwood Church of God in Gastonia. She loved her family and church family, especially looking after her grandchildren. She retired from Dixie Yarns after 48 years of service and loved gardening. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Carillon Assisted Living in Shelby for their loving and caring support of our mother and grandmother. Faye is survived by her daughters and sons in-law, Linda and Richard Crawford, Brenda and Cliff Wilson, brothers and sisters in-law, Jerry and Linda Bryson, Bob and Beverly Bryson, sister, Margie Moyle, grandchildren, Bou Carpenter and wife Jennifer, Angela Cunningham and husband Brian, Brian Crawford and wife Miranda, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kelly Robert Burrell, sister, Doris Cloninger, and granddaughter, Carolyn Tallent Pennell. A funeral service will be held 3 pm Sunday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia with the Rev. Bobby Smith and Rev. Harold Ashe officiating. Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. The South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium is serving the family.
