Fannie Mae Walters

Fannie Mae Walters, 80, of Gastonia, went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2016 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

She was born May 11, 1936 in Anson County, the daughter of the late George and Annie High.

Fannie attended Friendship Baptist Church in Gastonia.  She retired from Lance Corporation after 26 years of service.  She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Left to cherish her memories are her son John Walters; daughters Dianne Tarbush and husband Cary of Gastonia, Shirley Marze and husband Bobby of Stallings, Becky York of Dallas; sister Annie Lou Phillips of Rockingham; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; niece Mary Phillips of Rockingham and many more nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Doug Walters and nine brothers and sisters.

Receiving of friends and family will be held 6 – 8 pm Thursday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Perry High, will be held 1 pm Friday, December 16, 2016 at Mark's Creek Presbyterian Church, 484 Mark's Creek Church Rd., Hamlet, NC  with a second visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
