Everett "Gopher" Eugene Mcdonald

Everett "Gopher" Eugene McDonald, 52, of Sandersville, Ga, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Wellstar Health, GA.

He was born July 6, 1971, in Columbia, SC, son of Glenda Wall McDonald and the late Edward W McDonald, Sr.

Gopher was a member of Wildwoods Hunting Club.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Sanders, and brothers, Edward McDonald, Jr., and Matthew McDonald. Blended family includes his sister, Mickie Cook; brother, Shorty Cook; and special second mom, Mary Ann Cook.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sisters, Robin Caldwell (Jason), Renee McDonald (Eddie-Mac), Susan Center (Brad), and Ginger Talford (Damenion); special niece, Karissa Harvey; and many nieces and nephews. Blended family includes his brother, Clayton Cook (Brandi); sister, Leigh Cook Rash (Josh); and special second dad, Lester "Jr" Cook.

A funeral service will be held 2pm, Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the service at Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.
