Evelyn Cable Smith

Evelyn Cable Smith, 80, of Gastonia passed away Friday, February 7, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte. She was born May 17, 1933 in Graham County, NC to the late George Blankenship and Effie Johnson Blankenship. A graveside service will be held 3 pm Monday, February 10 at Gaston Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Arlo E. Smith, Jr. The family will be receiving friends from 4-6 pm at Greene Funeral Service Sunday, February 9. Mrs. Smith is survived by: a loving husband of 14 years Arlo Smith; sons, James P. Cable and wife Joan, Tom Cable and fiancée Karen, Randy Cable and wife Teresa, Noel Cable, Jon Cable and wife Penny; 5 stepchildren; sisters, Jewel Mimms, Maxine Hyatt; 12 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: late husband, Porter Cable.
