Eulas "Cookie" Cook, 77, of Gastonia, passed away November 2, 2012 at the Robin Johnson House, Dallas. He was born January 29, 1935, son of the late Jess J. and Margaret Evelyn Carver Cook. Mr. Cook was a native of Graham County and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Gastonia. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He loved the outdoors, gardening, and to collect odds and ends. He retired after 30 years of service with Wix Filters, was an ordained Deacon, and a life member of the VFW Post 9337. A funeral service will be held 7:00 pm Monday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052, officiated by Rev. Bob Cloniger. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -7:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday at Old Mother Church Cemetery, Robbinsville, NC with Military Honors, officiated by Rev. Tom Shoemaker. Mr. Cook is survived by: wife of over 12 years, Louise Smith Cook; son, Jeff Cook; daughters, Linda Hagberg, Karen Woods and husband Barry, Deborah Wentz, Jan Varnadore, Diana Cato and husband Steve; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great- great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by: six brothers and one sister. Memorials may be made to the Robin Johnson House, 5005 Shepherds Way Dr. Dallas, NC 28034.
