Eugene Hughes, 82, of Clover, passed away Monday, August 06, 2018 at the Robin Johnson House of Dallas.
He was born, February 02, 1936 in Carter County, TN, son of the late Ernest Hughes and Christine Vest.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife married 61 years, Doris Wright; sons, Rick Cooke and wife Kathy, Michael Cooke and wife Sandra, Terry Hughes and wife Kim, George Hughes and wife Sally; brothers, Bill Hughes and Dickie Hughes; sisters, Linda Henley, Elva Sammons, Sandy Pryor, Judy Foster, Sue Walker and Sheila Humphries; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Mae. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service- South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.
Visitation will be held one-hour prior at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Westview Garden in Bessemer City, NC.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
