Eugene Kurt Hartz

Eugene Kurt Hartz, 66, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

He was born January 12, 1956, in Queens, New York to the late Weldon and Myrtle Hartz.

Eugene was a Fireman and an EMT. He is a former member of the Bantam Connecticut Fire Company, past president of Union Road Optimist, a coach, past member of Gaston County Gem and Mineral Club, collected coins, and was a member of North Carolina 33 Civil War Re-Enactment Group.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara Hartz; son, Paul Hartz (Crysten); daughter, Christina Segura; brothers, Glen Hartz (Bonnie), Stephen Hartz (Jaimie); six grandchildren, Jastin Gallimore, Cheyenne McCraw, Matthew McCraw Ezekiel Hartz, Victor Perez Segura, Ariana Perez Segura.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Jeff Lindsey will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
