Ethel H White

Ethel H. White, 83, of Gastonia, passed away March 1, 2022, at her home.

She was born in Cabarrus County, NC on March 31, 1938, to the late Rilla Mae Simpson Rockwood.

Ethel was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Gastonia.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She also "mothered" many children in her neighborhood.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Boyd White; two sons, Sammy and David White; and siblings, Frank "D" Gardner, Ann Kise, Lawrence Simpson, and Gladys Spearman.

Ethel is survived by three sons, Jerry White and wife Linda, Roger White and wife Kim, and Paul White and wife Charlene; a daughter, Susan Splawn and husband Dan; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service, officiated by Roy Postell, will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, March 7, 2022, at the Garden of Prayer Mausoleum, Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
