Ethel Thompson Beavers

Ethel Thompson Beavers, 90, of Lincolnton, NC, stepped into glory on January 3, 2025 surrounded by family, at Atrium Health Lincoln.

She was born October 14, 1934, in Gaston Co, NC, daughter of the late William and Maude Strickland Thompson.

Ethel was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother (Peachy) and friend. She was a faithful church member until she was unable to attend; however, she enjoyed singing along with visiting churches at the nursing home. She enjoyed working puzzles, playing BINGO and gardening. Ethel especially loved caring for her fruit trees.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Beavers; and sons, James Horace Beavers, Todd Douglas Beavers).

Ethel is survived by her daughter, Tammy B. Coggins and husband Darrell of Dallas; son, David M. Beavers of Bessemer City; granddaughters, Jessica D. Parker and husband Lonnie of Gastonia, Holly D. Hovis of Lincolnton; great grandchildren, Gavin P. Parker, Isaiah M. Hovis, Jaxon L. Parker, Tenley I. Hovis and Macey J. Parker; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends; and step-grandson, David Coggins.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. Gregg Hager, will be held 2:00pm, Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia.
