Ernest "Dink" Riddle

GASTONIA -- Ernest "Dink" Riddle, 79, passed away July 27, 2013 at his home. He was born Aug. 29, 1933 in Gaston County, son of the late Samuel and Estelle Bingham Riddle. A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052, officiated by Dr. Raymond Whitfield. The family will receive friends from 1 - 2:15 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. He was a loving devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid NASCAR fan who rooted for Jeff Gordon. Mr. Riddle was survived by: his loving wife of 57 years, Beulah Grant Riddle; son, Teddy Riddle and wife Lisa; daughter, Debra Riddle; brother, Gene Riddle; grandchildren, Tamara Baker and husband Scott, Ashley Boyd and husband Michael, Heather Radford and husband Neil, Taylor Riddle, Jamie Gibson, Shane Gibson and wife Charita, Summer Kerley and husband Travis; 13 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by: his son Frankie Dale Riddle and one sister. Memorials may be made to the Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984 Gastonia, NC 28054.
