Ernest Eugene "Pete" Dellinger

Ernest Eugene Dellinger, 88, of Lowell, went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 7, 2016 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 19, 1928, a native of Gaston County, the son of the late Mollie Messer and John Grover Dellinger.

He was known to his friends and family as "Pete".  He loved hunting, fishing and classic cars.  He worked at Industrial Metal Craft for 45+ years continuing to work part-time until his death.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law of 36 years Sherry Stewart Dellinger; his only grandson Bobby Jeremy Dellinger and wife Shannon and two great-grandchildren Gavin and Gracie.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Elizabeth Langford Dellinger and only child Bobby Eugene Dellinger.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Gene Spurling will be held 11 am Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
