Ernest Estle Ottinger, Jr.

Ernest Estle Ottinger, Jr., 89, of Stanley, passed away January 20, 2016 at his residence.

He was born December 16, 1926, a native of Gaston County, the son of the late Ernest E. Ottinger and Cordie Moore Ottinger.

Ernest was a member of Gaston County Honor Guard and a US Navy veteran.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Pauline Auten Ottinger; daughters Diane Sprinkles and husband Harold and Suzette Bryson and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Sandy Sprinkles, Connie Williamson, Nick Hudson, Gwenn Burrell and Lynn Rutkowski and 9 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, 7 brothers and 1 grandson.

A funeral service with military honors by the US Navy and Gaston County Honor Guard will be held 2 pm Tuesday at the Lowell Church of God, 804 W. 1st Street, Lowell, officiated by the Revs. Joe Heffner and Carl Fosdick.

The family will receive friends 6:30 – 8:30 pm Monday at the church.

Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
