Ernel Shelton

Ernel Shelton, 75, of Grover, passed away March 12, 2017 at his home and is now in the honored presence of his Lord.

He was born in Marshall, NC on July 23, 1941, son of the late Earl and Geneva Shelton.

Mr. Shelton attended Landmark Baptist Church in Gastonia.

He was the last surviving child of twelve siblings.

Ernel retired from Davey Tree Expert Company and Duke Power after 32 years of service as Master Foreman.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 54 years, Patti Conder Shelton; daughters, Rhonda Pressley (Randy), Audrey Costner (Scotty), Selena Barnette (Richard); grandchildren, Brandon Pressley, Garron Pressley, Andrew Barnette, Erin Hornbuckle, Emily Costner;  seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Forrest Hennessee and Rev. James Sechrest will be held Noon, Wednesday, at Faith Baptist Church 4220 Faith Church Road Indian Trail, NC.

The family will  receive friends  6-8 pm Tuesday, at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia and 11-noon at the church on Wednesday.

Interment will be in Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews, NC.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
