Rev. Emory A. Beaver

Rev. Emory A. Beaver, 95, of Gastonia passed away January 16, 2013 at his home. He was born October 2, 1917 in Cherokee County, son of the late Alfred James and Rhonda Harris Beaver. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at Independent Baptist Tabernacle, Dallas, officiated by the Revs. Ralph Carver, Landon Rice, and Jeff Williams. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -9:00 pm Saturday at the church. Interment will be held at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia. He was a member of Independent Baptist Tabernacle, Dallas. He retired from Firestone with over 42 years of service and was the founder, builder, and Pastor of Harmony Baptist Church, Gastonia. Mr. Beaver is survived by: his wife, Sylvia Beaver; sons, Mayford Beaver, Carl Beaver and wife Easter; daughter, Linda Burchfield and husband Marshall; daughter in law, Sue Beaver; brother, Walt Beaver; step son, Dustin Bell; step daughter, Velvet Hannon and husband Fred; grandchildren, James, Kathi, Mark and Todd Beaver, Kevin Burchfield, Teresa Chitwood, Jennifer Billings; step grandson, Devon Bell; 7 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his first wife, Oma Beaver; son, Gerald Beaver; 5 brothers; 4 sisters; daughter in law, Robbie Beaver.
