It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Emma Ivester's passing on January 22, 2025, at the age of 73. Emma was born on January 12, 1952, in York County, SC and spent her life doing what she loved-crafting beautiful upholstery pieces as a master upholster in the custom upholstery business for cars.
Emma was not just talented; she was a generous soul who always prioritized her family and friends. She was the best wife anyone could ask for, having experienced what she described as love at first sight with her husband, Eddy Ivester. Their bond was truly special, a partnership built on respect, love, and warmth.
In her younger days, Emma was a force to be reckoned with, having earned her black belt in Taekwondo and was a defending champion. Beyond her incredible achievements, Emma was humble, God fearing, and never sought recognition for her talents. Her kindness and generosity touched everyone she met, making her unforgettable. Emma had a strong faith in her Lord. She was a dedicated member of Salem Baptist Church. When the Lord led her to do things, she always did her best to full fill His will.
Emma is survived by her loving husband, Pastor Eddy Ivester (Stanley Rescue Chaplain); sons, Michael Smith (Kim) and Jason Mullinax (Cindy); many other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins, who all will forever cherish their beautiful memories together with her.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Vera Snyder; son, Traywick Shane Smith; sister, Cynthia Deloris Canipe.
In honor of her life, there will be a memorial service held in her memory on Saturday, February 8, 2025, 3:00 PM, at Salem Baptist Church, where family and friends will gather to celebrate the wonderful woman she was.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service. Online condolences can be made at: www.greenefuneral.com
