Emily Jean Rhyne

Emily Jean Rhyne, 74, of Dallas, passed away October 20, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born a native of Gaston County, June 7, 1940, daughter of the late, Rev. Linwood and Rose Pierce. Emily was a member of Center Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Waxhaw. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Bingham of Gastonia; sons, Jeff Rhyne and wife, Gail of Vale, Scott Rhyne and wife Daphne of Dallas, Robert Rhyne of Ernul, Nicholas Rhyne of Dallas; brother, Jim Pierce of Kannapolis; sister, Ruth Nantz of Dallas; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Rhyne; brother, Roger Pierce and sister, Kathryn Dills. A graveside service officiated by the Rev. Wayne Coleman Dills will be held 2 pm on Friday at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6 - 8 pm on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Center Grove Freewill Baptist Church - P.O. Box 92, Waxhaw, NC 29173. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
