Emily Martin Lunsford

Emily Martin Lunsford, 88, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Warrenton, VA, on April 7, 1935, to the late William and Fredia Martin.

Emily was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Gastonia.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lunsford; sons, Ted Samuel Lunsford, Haywood "Woody" Lunsford; brothers, Billy Martin, Frederick "Blue" Martin, Doug Martin; sister, Phyllis Martin; her loving companion, Rocky.

Emily is survived by her son, Mickey Cecil Lunsford and daughter-in-law Betty who was like a daughter to her; brothers, Lewis Martin, Frank Martin; sister, Polly Martin; grandchildren, David Lunsford (Carla), Lee Lunsford, Douglas Lunsford (fiancé Arrikka Montgomery), Chastity Mauney; great-grandchildren, Jordan Lunsford, Ryder Mauney, Kira Mauney, Jaxon Lunsford; Mr. Mittens of the home.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. Sam Barnette will be held Friday, October 13, 2023, 3:00 PM, at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia, NC. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park.
