Emily Goins

Emily Ruth "Parker" Goins, age 66, of Gastonia, passed away June 2, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. She was born October 17, 1945,in Gaston County, daughter of the late Vance Parker and Alma Johnson Buckner. She was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church, Belmont. A funeral service will be held 2pm on Thursday at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, Belmont, officiated by Rev. Ernest Parker and Rev. Bob Hedgepath. The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. In addition to her parents, Emily was preceded in death by: her husband, Troy Ferguson; her brother, Clifford Leo Parker; and her sister, Hattie Haladine Ewing. She is survived by: her sons, Troy Dean Ferguson, Dale Ferguson and fiancée Tracy Southard, all of Gastonia; daughter, Trudy Vaughn of Gastonia; brothers, Johnny Lewis Parker and wife Barbara of Gastonia, Ernest Ray Parker and wife Linda of Ranlo, Charles Kenneth Parker and wife Debra of Ranlo; sisters, Betty Lou Christopher of Dallas, and Kathy Louise Day of Ranlo; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
