Elwood Rye

Elwood Rye, 74, of Dallas, passed away January 14, 2016 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 28, 1941 in Smokeless, WV, son of the late Clint and Violet Rye.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Rye; sisters, Norma Jean Rye and Patricia East; and grandson, Joseph Bradley Jenkins.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Lisa Jenkins and husband Kelly; brothers, Melvin Rye and wife Mary, John Rye and wife Denise; sisters, Pauline Rye, Melinda Lytton and husband David; grandson, Joshua Jenkins.
A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Earnest Fulcher, will be held 1 pm Tuesday at Christian Fellowship Tabernacle in Christiansburg, Virginia.
The family will receive friends 11:30am – 12:45pm at the church prior to the service.
Interment will be 11:00am Wednesday in Westview Gardens.
Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
