Elwood "Bill" Hardee

Elwood "Bill" Hardee, 88, of Gastonia, passed away September 25, 2023, at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, NC.

He was born June 30, 1935, Horry County, South Carolina, to the late Ashley Galveston Hardee and Ida Hughes Hardee.

Bill was a charter member of Chapel Grove Church of God in Gastonia.

He was a US Army veteran who proudly served his country.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 South York Road Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Dennis Harmon.

The family will receive friends 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City with military honors provided by the US Army.

Bill is survived by his children, Glenn Hardee (Pam), Beth Champion (Pete), Jeff Hardee (Kelly), Alan Hardee (Jenny); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Stubblefield.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Sarah Joanne Hardee; his sons, Billy Hardee, Gary Hardee; several brothers and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Gaston Hospice (Robin Johnson House) PO Box 3984 Gastonia, North Carolina 28054.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium located at 1503 South York Road Gastonia.
