Elsie Marie Young

Elsie Farmer Young, age 80, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

She was born August 7, 1944, daughter of the late Claude Richard Farmer and Estelle Russell Farmer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Wilton Kenneth Young, Sr.; daughter, Amy Young Ballard; and siblings, Richard, Ray, Aaron, Jack, Cecil, Letha, Addie, Betty, Nancy, and Sue.

Elsie is survived by her sister, Doris Smith; stepson, Wilton "Kenny" Kenneth Young, Jr. (Belinda); grandchildren, Michael Scott Young (Maggie), Matthew Todd Young, and Brandon Robert Ballard; great-grandchildren, Mason Alexander Young, Ethan Matthew Young, Maxwell Ellis Young, Isla Adele Young, and Brody Robert Ballard; and 22 nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Gaston Memorial Park (old side, in the Matthew Section), Gastonia, NC with Rev. Roger Wentz.
