Eloise Reeves Queen

Eloise Reeves Queen, 103, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Alexandria Place.

She was born October 18, 1918, in Oconee County, SC, daughter of the late John and Vena Sanders Reeves.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William Glenn Queen, a grandson, Rodney Bryant, and nine brothers and two sisters; also, two son in laws Jim Hudson and Henry Cathey.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Martha Hudson and Janice Cathey, both of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Robin Clark of Charlotte, Lynn Edmondson of Florida, Michael Cathey of Gastonia and Tracy Smith of Shelby.  Mrs. Queen has Seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Eloise was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Gastonia.  She was a precious grandmother and a loving mother, she was very devoted to her family, and she loved and enjoyed her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 12:30 to 1:30 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 South York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052

A graveside service officiated by Pastor David MacEachern will follow at 2:00 PM at Gaston Memorial Park.
