Ella "Loretta" O'Neal Davis

Ella "Loretta" O'Neal Davis, 83, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center, Lincolnton, NC.

She was born June 14, 1940, in Beebe Hospital, Lewis Delaware, daughter of the late Edward J. O'Neal and Virgie Hitch O'Neal.

Loretta was a member of Assembly of God, Selbyville, Delaware. She was a loving mother and friend and was the most loving person to anyone. She always loved getting together with her family, they were her whole world.

In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Edward D. Davis; son, Medford G. Franklin; brothers, Ernest O'Neal, David O'Neal, Edward O'Neal, and Donald Lee O'Neal; sisters, Delores O'Neal, Joanne O'Neal Marvel (David); and grandsons, Christopher Brame, and Adam Franklin.

Loretta is survived by her son, Danny W. Franklin (Rebecca); daughters, Christine Franklin Hodges (Jeff), and Lisa O'Neal Carter (Devin); sister-in-law, Roberta O'Neal; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Phillip Brame, will be held 4:00pm, Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the South Chapel Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.
