Eliza "Daphine" Starnes

Eliza "Daphine" Starnes, 83, of Kings Mountain, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016, at her home.

She was born February 2, 1933, in Cleveland County, daughter of the late Mimmie Mae Powell.

Eliza loved her kids and grandkids. She also loved country music, auctions, and dirt track racing.

Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Starnes; brother, J.R.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Kim Starnes Blanton and husband Scott; brothers, Daniel Jones of Hickory, Ed Jones and wife, Buren or Kings Mountain, Dennis Jones of Shelby; sister, Connie Jones of Shelby; grandchildren, Nikki, Dusty, Shane, Crystal; and great-grandchildren, Heaven, Krissy and Isaiah.

A funeral service will be held 2:30 pm on Monday at Faith Baptist Church, 1009 Linwood Rd., Kings Mountain. Pastor J. R. Robbins will be officiating.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be held at Mount Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, N.C.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
