Elinor Jane Hardy

Elinor Jenkins Hardy, 85, of Gastonia, NC passed away November 25, 2024 at Morningside of Gastonia.

She was born October 31, 1939, in Shenandoah, PA, daughter of the late Edward M. Jenkins and Helen S. Jenkins.

Elinor worked as a registered nurse in Pennsylvania. After retirement and moving to NC, she enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV. Elinor was a member of Crowders Creek ARP Church where she served with Women's Ministries.

She is survived by her husband, David Hardy of 64 years; daughters Susan Melchiorre and Nancy Jones (Gene); grandchildren Karen Melchiorre, John Melchiorre (Sandi), Laura Jones, Lisa Jones Cook (David); 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Ida Elaine Markulics, and son-in-law Jack Melchiorre.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Crowders Creek ARP Church Cemetery Fund, 207 Crowders Creek Church Road, Gastonia, NC 28052 or Gaston Hospice and Palliative Care, 2240 Remount Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054.

A graveside service will be held 11:00am, Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Crowders Creek ARP Church Cemetery.
